I was pretty upset about the outcome and reluctantly let them place 4 more attachements on. 2 on my front right tooth, 1 on the tooth right next to it, and the 4th one on a lower inscisor. And there are 10 trays (5 on the bottom)! And they had to do some IPR between my front teeth so that they will come together like they're supposed to... so now.. another gap! :( I hate life right now.
As you can see in the pictures below, my front right tooth (left in the pics) is not straight up and down. Most of the work being done is to straighten that tooth out by torquing the root, hence the two attachments on that tooth. This tooth has been a problem the entire treatment, so no surprise there.
Anyway, after they saw how upset I was, she offered to just stop where I was and go to retainers, then I reminded myself how much money I've put into these things and decided I better keep going.
There were some pluses though;
-She showed me my new clin-check and it made me realize they are fixing things I didn't even realize was wrong because I was too focused on my two front teeth and that darn gap.
-I convinced her that we should try 10 days for each tray since I'm almost done. This will take me from 140 days to 100!
She didn't want to at first but I reminded her how compliant I've been. We agreed to 10 days on the condition that if the new tray doesn't feel right, I will wear the previous trays for the full 14 days. And when I come back in 3 trays, she will reevaluate and see if this is still a good option for me.
-The last three trays are over-correction trays, so it will be up to me if I think I need to wear them to pull everything in a little tighter or not.
All in all, I left the office feeling pretty good again after seeing how awesome my teeth will look (in theory) when all is said and done! :)

ReplyDeleteIn invisalign nyc cost $150.
ReplyDeleteMy sister recently started treatment for invisalign in Charlotte. She loves it! I had wire braces when I was younger and they did the trick for me. Invisalign was not a very prominent option back then.
ReplyDeleteI had braces when I was in high school and now I think that I'm going to have to get them again. I hope that I can get some invisalign. I think that would make the process go a lot smoother. I hope the orthodontist sees it the same way I do. http://www.lowdersmiles.com/invisalign

ReplyDeleteI would have preferred to have invisalign instead of braces. Just think how nice it would have been for no one to notice that I was wearing braces. I think it's a good alternative option to braces. People should look into both options, because they both have pros and cons. I think most prefer invisalign, though. http://www.bellerivedental.com

An easy and effective way to remove plaque around dental braces and improve gum health is to use a Gurin Water Flosser with the Orthodontic Tip. It is clinically proven more effective than dental floss for people with braces. Learn more about how to floss with braces using a Gurin water flosser.
ReplyDeleteMany people have the embarrassing issue of crooked or crowded teeth. One of the most obvious solutions for the orthodontic problem is to get braces, but with more and more teens and even adults needing their teeth straightened, there is another option known as Invisalign. Invisalign is a clear set of hard plastic aligners that are fitted for your mouth. They must be checked and replaced over the course of the first couple of months while they work at aligning your teeth into proper position. Invisalign is a preferred choice for adults and teens because they are practically invisible due to being clear. However, as with all things, there are both pros and cons to using Invisalign. It’s important to know all the details before you decide to get fitted with the aligners at Orthodontist & Invisallign Doctor in Whitefield, Bangalore.
ReplyDeletePros of Invisalign
There are several advantages to getting Invisalign instead of opting for traditional metallic braces. Here are some pros of the clear set of aligners:
Comfort: Invisalign is much more physically comfortable to wear. Since there are no wires or brackets, you don’t have to worry about getting any painful nicks or cuts in your mouth. They are smooth and won’t irritate your mouth. The aligners are similar to a mouth guard and lack any sharp edges.
More Attractive: Since Invisalign is clear, it doesn’t leave you with a mouth full of metal. In other words, they are more attractive to the eye, and most people won’t even know you are wearing them. That means you can feel free to smile and don’t have to feel overly self-conscious.
Convenience: Invisalign has become a norm for straightening the teeth, which means that you don’t necessarily have to deal with metal braces. This makes them very convenient, especially as they are available on a widespread scale.
Can be Removed: Invisalign aligners can be removed for eating, brushing your teeth and flossing. That is something that cannot be done with braces. It allows you to eat foods you want and practice better oral hygiene, which helps to lower your risk of developing gum disease while you go through the process of straightening your teeth. You won’t have to worry about food particles getting stuck, which happens with traditional braces.
Minimal Maintenance: Invisalign aligners require minimal maintenance. They can get dingy over time when you wear them, but you can freshen them by using a toothbrush dipped in a small amount of bleach and water. Scrubbing them for a minute will eliminate any stains. You only need to do this every other day.
